OR is best used in conjunction with and to produce a focussed search. eg AND brake OR disc OR PAD will find posts on brake discs or brake pads You can use NOT to define words which should not be in the result. Best avoided by making your main search term better You can use * as a wildcard for partial matches. This is most useful for specifying an author when you cannot remember their full forum name. Can also be useful for removing model data eg searching for SAFC* by author two* will return information on the SAFCI, SAFCII,SAFCV (etc) posted by two_OH_five,twoohfive, twotwenty (etc) Narrowing down where to look You can use either the forum or the category selectors to limit the range of the search eg searching for and chargecooler and fluid when you want to know how to top up the level will return results from the classifieds section where somebody is selling chargecooler fluid. You can avoid this by selecting the category "GT-Four Discussion" to limit the search to the maintenance, modification and technical forums Finally Remember, by it's very nature information on a forum is transient.
