Unfortunately the head has to come off to get the pistons out
You can replace bearings with the engine in though...

Just a quickie, can you get the bottom end rebuilt with forged bits and so on from underneath - ie. without having to take the head off? |

Not to worry, was going full chat on a super head job with the works and just didn't want to have to remove it all and replace again further down the line. Still, it's the price you pay, so I guess I'll just upgrade the fuel system sooner so I can run higher boost on the standard internals once properly mapped. That should keep me happy for a while
