the quality is top notch, the join between the cap and the rod is hardly visable and barely noticable scraping your nail across it....mighty impressed 8) 8)

Peter - Have to say when I saw these rods I was mightily impressed - as yu say the join between rod & cap is almost invisible to teh nake eye - amazing quality. There has been soem question a while back about the strength of these rods - IIRC Eagle changed the design to rectify teh failure point and quite a few are running these rods in high HP & torque applications now. TBH I would buy these myself as tehy seem amazing value.

Good stuff, glad the earlier problems seem to be in the past, might well be interested in some of these for my eventual rebuild.

Good luck Peter :)

Agreed,
Fit and finish is of the highest order
I believe that Kris not only found them weight matched very well but also closely axially balanced too

Top gear with hopefully any past issues now firmly in the past. Empirical evidance points to them being very good :D

So far we know these rods have survived ~8,000rpm, 500hp and ~450lb/ft torque

At present these seem to be terrific value for money for a fairly high power car.

Let's hope that the reliability of these rods is as good as what everyone hopes! :)

The Eagle rods are considerably lighter than most others, by several hundred grams IIRC. I believe they are partly made in China? They look good but like most things the devil is in the detail i.e. balancing, polishing, shot peening. I'd sooner go with beefier rods from a well known manufacturer for that extra margin of safety.

EAGLE RODs.

they are well know in the US and get fitted to alot of V8 drag cars running 600+ horse power.
I was going to get some for my 75 Corvette powered Chevy Nova.

i would think that they will be good rods, i never saw anything bad printed about there products when i was into the YANK TANK SCENE.

I was going to go fore these in a later date engine rebuild myself.

I *believe* the strength of these rods was thrown into doubt some time ago by someone using them for 'semi-professional' hill climb engines??

A long and heated debate ensued, to which there was no definitive outcome.

As Kris has said, there are a few high powered 4's running around with these so far with no ill effects as yet. Fingers crossed that the amendments made have resolved any doubts people have voiced over the ability of these rods to perform in high powered cars over extended periods of time.
