Well decided to upgrade my brakes a tad before going any further with bhp modifications. I went for 3G's Brembo based 20 grove discs front and rear using Mintex fast road pads. Excellent! What a great improvement! along with replacing the brake fluid for some synthetic fluid I'd highly recommend 3G's products :) Most helpful folks too :D

3G's website: www.3gbrakes.co.uk
Price: Front & rear 20 grove discs £315 delivered
Price with Mintex pads £420 delivered.

Sorry Kris i'll post some piccy links later when i get a chance. Mines a 91 UK car which has the large single pot calipers & discs. I know 3G also do the kit for the small JDM discs & twin pot calipers.

I take it you run with the stock disc size, just grooved, with a hotter pad.
Or did you go for larger disc. like that from a TT.

The stock brakes on the 185 are very sad, how they managed to supply the vehicle on the road with them i don,t know.

correct :) Didn't fancy all the messing about with 205 calipers etc so went stock diameter. I wasn't disappointed with the standard discs, its just I wanted better. The standard discs are crap at suffering brake fade imho. As for the single pot calipers I've never been a great fan of the sliding type as they always end up sticking at some point in their life :? but they do stop the old girl ok with the new setup thats for sure.
