Hey all, I'm thinking about buying a suede steering wheel for the 4' but ive heard that the sweat in your hands buggers it up and the suede will wear out quite quickly???

Can anyone enlighten me??

Thanks, DAVE 8)

Dave - Loosey has a suede Momo steering wheel and it's now seen better days. They are ok, but I don't think you are going to see years and years of use out of them.

Not noticed the sweaty hand syndrome? But then I don't sweat much for a fat bloke.

+1 :)

I'd go for a 'normal' leather wheel myself.

hmm, Suede.
In critical conditions and for those who get nervous- decent driving gloves for track are very handy. Nothing worse than a sweaty palm leading you off into the kitty litter.

Div,

As Kris said, I have (had?) a swede oops i mean suede (!) steering wheel.

It is almost as smooth and shiny as a leather one now, but has the added disadvantage of having years of someones sweat and crud imbedded in it. :?

On damp mornings i get black hands driving in to work . . . needless to say i am currently investigating an alternative! 8)

Although if i took it off and gave it a jolly good soak and scrub it may not be so bad?

I'd love to see you wash the suede... then watch it fall apart after

You have to get special cleaner & a rubber brush IIRC to wash suede.
No one here never brought a pair of suede shoes & then thrown them away after getting caught out in the rain??
