Mike is looking into this.

Whithout wanting to steal his thunder I believe there are issues with the subfarme and an aftermarket seat.

Obviously fitting is the first step but you can pick up subframes that will physically fit, howevere it seems that the height of the seat post subframe is too high...

There is a solution and I'll let big Mike step in now :D

Dave,
Just to put Kris' comments in context if you want to fit recliner type seats (i.e. the ones that fold forward to allow passengers to get in to the rear seats) then Recaro SR seats are available from Demon Thieves and these can be mounted with Bride Type RO subframes available from Tacky Harry in Japland. Sometimes you can be lucky and pick up a secondhand set off fleabay but even so, expect to pay around £500 for a pair. The subframes are not cheap either at around £350 shipped IIRC.

There may be other recliners that fit but I don't know anyone that's departed from the Recaro script so far.

Mike is sorting out a fixed back bucket type seat and suitable mountings but is finding things a bit complicated. Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Anyone got any ideas about the TRD ones that Fennies sell then? They also do some subframes/rails for those don't they? Although they're expensive I do rather fancy some of them if I get a suitable lottery win

Cheers,
Mark

They're nice seats but the price is outrageous for what they are.

JP enquired to Fensport about the ST205 subframes. Apparently they can only supply the drivers side.

Dave - if its recliners you want then Bride make suitable frames.

I am looking into a mounting solution for fixed buckets but it is causing some problems at the moment.

I think JP has also investigated the Bride subframes on a long delivery time

The frames themselves are not silly money. About 150 the pair IIRC. But you can double that if you airfreight them and get caught for import duty

Slow boat from Japan might save a bundle.
Perhaps a few people could club together for a group buy and save some costs?

Cobra make subframes for the ST205. i spoke to them and a guy who works there has a GT4 and made up a set for himself.
i got a set for my Cobra seats and the fit is pretty good, about the same height as standard frames.

75 quid each i believe.

Dave, AFAIK its only Cobra seats that fit on these subframes. There was a lot of discussion around this topic on the oh-cee forum  some time back. Perhaps Andy can confirm?

I just want to get the right set up, I dont like it when things can be "made to fit" If im spending my hard earned i want a perfect product!!

Dave - a wise call. Unfortunately there isn't a cheap way of getting aftermarket seats into a 205 :(

If there was then we would all be doing it! However, on a plus note there are moves afoot to try and get this sorted...

If you wanted to spend the cash then buy some new Recaro SRs and some Bride subframes and you will be "almost" there! Hope you're sitting down when you ask for price!

Personally I think the pricing is scandalous but I'm tight
