I am still on the fence about what rear calipers I a going to use. I have a couple of ideas on how I might do the mounting of the brembos if I use them on the rear. And I will jsut get a pad spacer since the 205 rotors are slightly thinner.

I think I am going to buy some aluminum hubcentric rings (made for wheel fitment) and get the outer diameter machined down to fit the sti rotors. Or machined to work together somehow.
Here are the front rotors I am concidering.

Here is a pic you all might find interesting. I do not have the evo8 bolts so I used screw drivers.
This is the brembos on a st205 rear hub.

The bolt holes match up very well. The evo bolt holes are smaller than the 205 though.
So I would either have to find a way to make the 205 holes smaller or enlarge the brembo holes and re-tap them. I am not sure how safe removing metal from the brake support is though.
I am also not sure if the holes are dead center. This could be adjusted. I will have to make a spacer since the evo discs are wider, the caliper will be slightly closer to the wheel.
I might be able to make a offset sleeve for the evo bolts that goes inside the hole of the 185 hub. that attaches to a spacer.
I might even have to raise the caliper since the rear 205 disc is taller by 15mm. This could resolve the bolt problem by just amking a bracket.

Once I get a 205 rear disc I can do much more comparing, and brain storming.

205 rear disc upgrade for a 165/185 is a good option, but being solid does reduce its cooling collection times.

Ehh? The ST205 rear discs are vented.. :)

i mean the 165/185 are solid, just my english sorry

rear 205 disc's are still very thin and for the money they cost, you can indeed buy much better replacements...

as for brake cylinder, i would recommend twin cylinder pedal box, least then you can adjust brake bias.

You might be able to search out some shouldered bolts which have a larger shank than the thread

Failing that you can certainly buy top hat style inserts which would go into the hub to reduce the 185 hub holes. A machine shop could knock them up in a few minutes if need be

For now, since I am trying to make this a semi budget project, I want a rear rotor that can use the stock e-brake. What other options for the rear 185 would there be?

Here is my idea for an insert bracket for the rear calipers.

If would help change the offset to work with the caliper and keep the offset bolt holes aligned.

This is if the caliper height is basily the same. If I have to raise the caliper to fit over the rotor, I will make a 4 hole bracker like the fronts.

Is there any cetian brand or model that just bolts up or is an adapter needed to be made? I thought about using an inline bias adjuster.

I was also looking at the evo8 MC and adapting it. I can get one for 23usd. Wanting to make this entire conversion proper, but also cost effective.

HOLY HUGEPICS BATMAN

ooh that's a pretty nice idea for a inset bar. Solves all sorts of issues!

On the rears I'd ditch the ebrake and line lock it. So much easier but I don't know if you guys are allowed to do it. Not strictly road legal here

Another slightly far out idea would be a complete rear hub swap from the 205 but that's probably not low budget when you throw shipping intp the mix :(

We can do it, but I would not know where to start. I would just use some rear sti rotors if I had a simple solution for the e-brake.
Anyone have any good links?

Meurz,

Is that showing the 205 disc to be over 1"?
If so, then that will work for me.

How thick did you measure the 205 rotors?

I think I would need to make a larger pad spacer to make use of 205 rear rotors and breambo calipers.
I think I will look into other disc options. since the front sti discs work, I will start by looking into rear sti discs.
