Do the ST205 drive shafts fit with the ST202 front suspension?

More progress installing the aeroquip brake lines, extinguisher lines etc. using stainless fasteners. Interesting that the suppliers of the air jacks recommend using hard lines rather than aeroquip. Apparently the 500psi line pressure can blow out the joints as they are only rated to around 200psi. Installing hard lines requires special tools and experience so this job might have to be outsourced.

There's about four to six weeks work left before the car goes off to get the wiring loom installed probably in mid to late February.

What's the black bar above the steering rack?

Yep, sway=ARB and its end adjustable, although not in cockpit. The straight bar also means it's easy to change it for different tube spec and thus vary the roll resistance :)

Just dropped in to have a look at the progress on this amazing machine and I must say, I'm barely capable of picking my jaw up off the floor! This is amazing Don, it's looking even better than I thought it would when I saw it in the fabrication stages. I'm getting so much inspiration from this thread for my own build :D

Sorry to ask an engine related question in this thread, but it's sort of chassis related; you mentioned before that you're going to be running a dry sump system - have you got the particulars of that nailed down yet and are you going to mount the engine any lower in the car as a result of using a DS system? Out of interest, who's doing the loom work for you? I assume it's going to be a "from scratch" bespoke job?

Dry sump spec is finalised. I don't yet have a pic of it assembled on the engine but the drive pulley has been changed so the pump runs at a slower speed initially. If it runs too fast there is a risk of the pump cavitating and also creating low pressure in the crankcase resulting in lack of lubrication in the upper cylinder. The plan is to observe how the system is performing during the initial running and then adjust as necessary.

The engine will use the standard mounts. Although there might some additional clearance there is limited scope to lower the car unless you do something extreme like Jonny Milner did on his tangerine sprint spec ST205. It was tricky enough getting the 3" exhaust system under the engine with enough ground clearance!

The loom is indeed a bespoke item. It's being assembled by a guy who is an aircraft wiring specialist in his day job and does historic Group B and other race car wiring in his spare time. The plan is to build a CAN based system with PDM, ECU and dash datalogger

A crank trigger sensor is being fitted so we can run Toyota Coil on Plug fired directly from the ECU although initially we will probably retain the standard distributor and igniter system simply to save time and get the car up and running. The sensor is visible in the pic of the engine below. Apparently its a Ford item but I hope that doesn't offend the Toyota purists on this forum!

No plan yet, need to see what space is left after the dry sump tank is fitted. Not planning on using water injection as the intercooler is GTO spec :)

The air jacks run at 500psi??

That's a little inconwenient, you will be pretty much restricted to an air tank setup for that as it's well above what compressors will do. It would also require separate tanks (or regulators) to run power tools.

Would be interesting to see the tools run @500psi though  A blurt gun would probably sound more like a GAU-8 off the A10 Warthog

And probably throw out air tools at the same rate.

Just reminded me I was going to comment about the hard pipes being specialist, seems a bit strange as surely it's just the same as doing brake pipes which even I'm tooled up to do.

Hi,

possible i sourced a company in budweis (CZ) which workes with carbon not that expensive, a friend and i currelty started to brain storm about a air box solution.
possible a little bit more then a brain storming as he is a doctor of technics

however, if we are able to get price and design under controll you could also profit from it :)

Well if you have the correct brake line flaring and bending tools that's good to know. Maybe worth a chat next weekend if you are coming up?

Keep me posted Sunny, as soon as I know how much space I have to work with I'll post up some pics and dimensions.
