Don, are you going to be supplied with a diagram of the bracing and cage - or perhaps a *bleep* packet in a Zaffron tomorrow?

Some pics showing the latest progress with the chassis. The beige coloured parts of the shell indicate the areas where the sound deadening material has been removed The fuel tank, brake and fuel lines have also been removed. All the sealer has been removed from the spot welded chassis joins in readiness for seam welding. Even although the roll cage will take most of the suspension loads stiffening the shell in this fashion should help make the handling more precise.

Lordy

I predict you'll have 36 nuts, 27 bolts and 103 washers left when you put that little lot back together

I wonder if the removal of sound deadening will be enough to offset the comedy industrial spec ear defenders you'll need to drive it. Still at least you'll know when you're in the kitty litter

Let the seam welding begin

looking good, timely game stripping seam sealant off ready for welding.

just 1 question why not acid dip, thus removing all traces off old paint & seam sealant, reduces weight & making tig welding much easier.

whats you expected wet working weight Don for the ugly 205 .

I'm not sure why the shell hasn't (yet) been acid dipped. Maybe the time you'd have to leave the shell in the bath to remove the seam sealer would damage other parts of the body? I'll ask next time I speak to them.

We're hoping to get the gorgeous 205 8) down to around 1150-1200 kg .... driver also has to go on a diet

Yowsers,

I haven't seen one of those old Philips Sendo phones in years.
Glad to see John keeps up with technology..........I wonder if all those holes are actually for the Flintstone motive power conversion

I suspect the phone actually belongs to Steve Guglielmi's engineer who was busy fabricating some trick suspension for their nitroused Turbo Sport Elise

Realistically, it is estimated that the chassis will take around a year to build.

Looking good Don, nice to see it's being done without cutting corners. What's been used to remove the sealant?

Isn't that one of the Philips "savvy" mobile phones that you can reportedly solder in a 12C508 chip to get unlimited credit?

looking good Don, seems some serious swiss cheesing action has taken place :-)
