That air jack is seven kinds of awesome. I always wondered how much additional weight that kind of system added?

Looks really nice Don, the cage looks 'substantial' :)

Did you just go for 1 airjack at the rear?

The air jacks are not that heavy and I reckon the time you save in the pit stops more than outweighs any slight effect they may have on lap times.

No, there's one at each side behind the base of the B pillar. It was easier than fitting a single unit where it would be awkward to mount it centrally given the prop shaft and diff

Take a seat first Joerg
Lister and Sons

Figure another 2/300 for lances, tanks, regulators etc etc

I'll have to stick with my hot air jacks where I shout at the pit crew until the wheels have been changed for me :(
This has not gone well so far

I don't have the invoice yet  suffice to say that they were about half the price of the AP Racing air jacks

Its more likely to snap than CDS.

I was referring to the construction in case of a side impact mate, if the welds fail, in the 'cut bar' design two sharpened bars are pointing inwards instead of 2 bent pieces.

I'm sure both designs are fine for what you and I are planning to risk with our cars though on track though (ie no cliff diving like Latvala in Portugal).

If the welding has been done properly then the weld should actually be stronger than the tube itself. CDS is more likely to bend than break so I think it should be fine.

Bit late to the party here, but anyways: What had been stripped out the car when it recorded the 1120kg on the weighbridge?

It looks like the charge cooler rad is gone but can't see the aircon rad? Were the electric window motors etc still in place?

The shell was weighed before we'd stripped the guts out of the doors and lightened the shell by drilling lightening holes and removing double skin areas, sound deadening etc.

The heavy SuperStrut front suspension has been replaced by a much lighter McPherson strut.

The glass will all be replaced by perspex type material so that should make a difference in reducing the weight

I presume you mean the Corolla WRC manifold?
There are some pics on this thread: http://gt4dc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php? ... t=manifold
