Erghh this is mainly directed at Kris but partially Don if interested.

I am pretty certain I ahve picked up a Fensport built FMIC kit with 70mm mandrel bent pipework with samco staright joiners where fitting requires the pipes to be split. Core is 600x300x80 so a little larger than I ideally wanted.

If anyone is interested I was thinking of looking into getting the pipewrok fabricated for future kits from teh stuff I have bought.

Let us know :-)

JP, is this the ex-Andy Ashby setup? If it uses the same pipe runs as Tony C's then count me in as well for a set of pipes/joiners etc. :D

yeh it is the ex andy ashby setup. It is designed for a clocked turbo witha final bit of samco into the turbo (a T78!)
I will get soem prices on on copies and post up.
You guys prefer stainless steel or aluminium? Powder coated, raw finish or polished?

Raw ally would be fine for me. I'd be looking into lagging it anyway.....

Sounds good JP! :)

I'm interested in the pipework and maybe even a core...

Have you got any pictures of the setup yet? I would be very interested to see these.

I would prefer stainless polished, but no drama as I have a mopping kit :)

Personally I think stainless would be preferable since it is much harder, easier to weld, more robust and resists rust better than ally

ker-plink!

I'm sure I've got some underbonnet pics of Andy's engine bay. I know I've got lots of pics of Tony C's. The pipe runs for the clocked turbo are much neater than the stock CT20/CT26 setup.

IIRC Andy bought the Greddy T78 turbo kit for the MR2. I guess the Samco joiners can allow for slight variations in positioning of the clocked turbo compressor outlet wrt the FMIC? e.g. T78 vs GT28/30

I'd like to retain some Samco joiners as I think this would help to isolate the vibrating "bits" from the static "bits" and so helping to reduce the chances of cracks etc...

JP - are you going to get a jig made up for this so that the existing deisgn can easily be copied?

yes I have pics, no I cant send em as it is not supported on this forum! lol
The pipework is indeed just short samco joiners with all bends in SS and with mounting brackets for bolting in place :-)
If you have seen the quality of the fensport stuff on teh rolla and TC's then you know what I have got. The only thing is they dont go for show and shine where it is hidden. Personally I will be getting the bottom pipes (whiuch are not polished at teh mo) powder coated if it is suitable for HT conditions.
I will be autocadding this lot up on receipt including teh Intercooler to obtain prices. the idea is to actually supply the pipework once as cost is established for precise kits. I have concerns about people taking jigs TBH so will probs get a aquintance to do tehm as long as they are upto scratch. I have no idea on teh ££ yet but if teh pipework was £350 or less for teh proper item then it would be a good price IMHO. I would like to get info on teh cheap cores and dims (precise though) to asses whether they woudl be suitable.

The other possibility is to send the pipework off to Samco or SFS and get continuous flexi pipe made to teh pattern. Thsi would be a lot more flexible as far as different configs go but 90% performance IMHO.

Oh yes and I should say I will not be creaming the £ off this project :-)

On more mundane level stainless bolt kits for the undertray etc would be a good seller too. Young Kris said he had a supplier in mind. I'm prompted by the rash of rusted and sheared bolts on Stormy :( would like to replace them all with stainless.
