G'day fellas,
It seems that i have blown the front seal in my turbo. The car is drinking oil like crazy, and the seal is leaking oil through the plumback system into the intake, and coating the pistons with oil and fowling the plugs. Is that correct?

i have yet to do a compression check, will do so tommorow, hopefully no internal damage done.

I was wondering, what would you guys recommend for an aftermarket turbo system?

I have the option of rebuilding my turbo and hi-flowing it. My power goals are around 200-250kw at the wheels with minimual lag.

If i was to rebuild my CT26 and hiflow it, what wheel would you recommend?

Thanks for the advice.
Shane

are you the guy with the cs/rc (i think you call them group A)

If you have one of these rather than a stcok ST185 the compressor wheel is laready a 47-48 trim and ideally suited to the 3sgte IMHO for a minimal lag setup. Should also see circa 280-300bhp at the flywheel too.

If your car is a stock St185 it will be circa 40-42 trim and is far too small. A CT20B would probabaly be the best least lag high power turbo for your engine. Alternatively look at a compressor wheel from a T04E 46 trim or the difficult to obtain 48 trim. Both are well suited to the 3sgte.

Thanks for that advice Diceman. And yeah i have the Group A from Oz. I never knew the group A's had a larger compressor wheel compared to stock 185?? i knew they had a steel wheel for sure though.

I will look into getting it highflowed, seems to be the easier option and cheapest. thanks.
