Hi Folks, Finally getting round to fitting my OPG, feed connects to back of block in same location as oil pressure switch. Any pitfalls advice ? also where could I get a (best described stright spigot connector) that will enable the the switch to run concurently with the OPG. It's an HKS model with a brass tee peice connector not sure size looks about 6mm ?

Any comment appreciated..

Cheers Nigel C

Hi Nigel :)

I have been round the loop with oil pressure gauges so hopefully you'll find some of this useful.

I assume by hydraulic you mean that there will be an oil line running into the cabin connected to the back of the gauge?

the connector on the end of the pipe that will be in the engine bay - is it male or female?

Brass T- Pieces are not normally recommended as they can (apparently) fracture with engine vibration etc. I would be more inclined to use a cadmium steel T piece which you can get from http://www.thinkauto.com which is a great place for all sorts of auto plumbing bits.

Any chance of posting a couple pictures up of what you have? You can email me the pics if needs be sirius@gt4dc.co.uk :)

Thanks Sirrus, Sorry for response delay "mozilla probs" now resolved . Yes has metal coil feed. The tee peice is a male connector. think im going to need a short male/female spacer to position a little further away and provide space for both switch and tee. Will have to have a word with No 1 son re pikkies and posting.

Can any advice be given re how much has be be removed to get to the switch.

Assume intercooler pulled back.... plug lead tray...leads and dizzy cap..

Is it better from underneath.. ?

Twill be first attempt at removing these items also assume no oil draining involved.

Cheers Nigel C.

Hi Nigel,

You don't actually need to remove anything.

However, life is easier without the charge cooler in place. No other dis-assembley required

When you get it out of the way you'll see the sensor plain as day on the front right side of the head as you look at it

Can't remember what size spanner undoes the stocker but when you undo it you will not loose oil
