very important -> the area where the bonnet ends is a area with over pressure, don't lift the bonnet as air will flow in the engine bay, this raise the pressure in the engine bay and less air can flow trought the radiator package!!!

Do you mean at the back of the bonnet by the windscreen ?

Here's a pic of a Time Attack Mitsubishi Evo carbon bonnet raised at the rear to assist the extraction of hot air from the engine bay

Hi,

yes the area between bonnet and windscreen

not good for the EVO, look to rally cars, do you saw only one car that has the bonnet lifted?

really, i got the knowledge from a guy with 30 years of working by TTE, i trust them
every tip that i have realized on my car changed it a bit :)

update for wolf:

119°C
by driving rally-cross

and also raised my knowledge, i reach those hot oil themp. slower when the licence plate is off

with: 3 rounds
without 6rounds

need to mount a oil cooler

and, does anyone know where i can buy cheap spal fans and what kind of fan should i choose (engine and air con.)

greetz

Good place for spal fans in UK is fereday cars

http://www.feredaycars.co.uk/everything ... fanidx.htm

Avoid cheap ebay ones that is why I had overheating problems in Switzerland.

Sunny, please... no more updates!

When I see your numbers and your way to test and to log them, I stare a bit...
this is not HOW to do it properly.

I NEVER trusted ANYONE:
friends, mechanics, "ex-TTE" guys, or "ex-Ferrari F1" guys (the most here....), or "ex-WRC friend" ecc ecc. that ANYONE of WE all had !

I always tried to get info by myself in the most scientific way, so with MANY sensors, ALL logged in my ecu to get REAL data I could compare:

- I made the louvred bonnet vent FIVE years ago, and it made NO DIFFERENCE in my ecu loggings (this is because, with bonnet rear sealed, the air must escape from the vent in any way)

- it made a 2 C. oil temp difference only when the louvred was at least 5 centimeters deep, but I removed it to make room for the turbo I have now

- unseal and raise the rear of the bonnet decrease the oil temps of 7/8 C.

This is what it came out from my test, if you trust them... if you won't, no problem!

Bye.

/EDIT

Just a quick update.
I did an open pit lane track day at Snetterton yesterday.
I was doing approx. 4-6 laps at a time with approx. a half hour break in between.
Here are the temps I saw:
Oil temps - maximum 112 deg C
Water temps - maximum 108 deg C.

Good feedback Nigel. Any idea on plenum temps? in my experience that is the biggest worry particularly with an ST205 running ~1.2 bar and 300bhp on track.

I'm afraid not :(

Just to add that I was running standard boost (0.9bar) - my boost controller was turned off because it kept spiking too much :(

Correct.
Fluid I'm using is Motul INUGEL OPTIMAL
