Hi,

they (TTE) use aluminium, but i can't manufacture it (welding, etc.) so i choose stainless steel :)

pipes are safer especialy in a race-car with higher water pressure
the downpipe is very close and also a reason for a pipe

my friend told me that i can do the following to show the collapse action:

- drive the engine good warm -> hot , so that you can be sure that the thermostat is far open
- open the bonnet and open the throttle, try different revolution's up to 6000rpm or something
- look at some hoses and see what they do

i didn't do this becouse i belive his words

Hi,

today was the first try out of the swirlpot, a kingdome for a bit space
but after i kicked the cusco tower-bar i have found a location :)

[img][/IMG]

we also mounted a alu diff cushion, it give a bit more feedback from the back but also terrible vibration's in low rpm (but somehow it feel's great on the back  ), not good for street but a good solution for rally

[img][/IMG]

proved and will replaced by a C-One Cushion

i will sell it, if anyone is interested PM me

Hi,

another part in direction target is done

TTE Gruppe A Swirlpot

airbox out

[img][/IMG]

close up of the situation

[img][/IMG]

and the target, sorry i forget to make pic's from the finished lines

[img][/IMG]

and finished

[img][/IMG]

i changed for a 1,5bar radiator cap for a higher boiling point, a nice part if i go on a raceway someday

and then i proved the distance to the bonnet, with wash-sand to find the highest position (5mm distance to the bonnet)

[img][/IMG]

simple the best

the next on my "to do list" is the jabsco pump, possible tomorrow but probably on friday becouse i'am thirsty

it will be interestig to see if anything changes - do you have any datalogging for inlet temps?

I'm guessing your friend is Target Racing?

Hi,

the hardest job is done

Jabsco Pump

first of all, i can yet mount a more restrictive front-radiator but with better cooling characteristics

sorry, only two pictures becouse a want the job done

[img][/IMG]

less is often more, a wire-connector (hope this is the right english word) hold the relay in position, with silicone on the connector it is safe from weather

Fuse, 25A
[img][/IMG]

this pump work very well, i startet the pump with the ECU pin to evacuate the pump from air, as my friend cry "stop, stop, stop, da*n", and the engine was full of water
and on the bad side is that i can feel very gentle vibrations on the brakepedal and cluchpedal when the pump works, i can't can use the rubber between bracket and OEM pump becouse there was no space any more, the jabsco pump fits perfect to the OEM bracket

and now the wiring

the 54-killer works great
i use the "B" from the OEM Pump swiched power circle to swich my relay

[img][/IMG]

[img][/IMG]

PS.: i frogett to write that i have now nearly 2L water in my system, becouse of the swirlpot

two_OH_five, i think you are right
sorry, i have no datalogging, Haltech ECU will come next year i hope, without correct measurement it is very hard to give a answer, my first impression is -> it feels better

Alex, regarding the engine coolant, are you planning on fitting a swirl pot for that as well? The TTE setup seemed to rely on a stainless steel braided 'bleed' line from the high point of the curved hose which takes the hot coolant from the end of the cylinder head to the sealed radiator top tank. This bleed line was routed to the engine coolant header tank on the wing. I'm not sure how effective this was, it was certainly different to a conventional swirl pot.

Hi,

Don, i will build the system possible in the end of summer09 but probably next year
if i find space

i found one reason for a different TTE system

if i look pictures from standart swirlpots
http://images.google.at/images?hl=de&q= ... a=N&tab=wi
possible waterflow and space, not sure

Not sure if you've seen this from the Fensport (Tony Charles) ST205 modified cooling system

Hi Don,

it is not the first time is see his car, but the first time i see quality pictures from his engine bay :)

i think my system will be different becouse, there is not many space left

to do list:

- try to mount a tank in front of the ABS system
- 2 or 3 points for air escape (radiator top left and right, and in the water top hose)
- MR2 Turbo thermosthat housing (to connect the tank)

this is my first plan but there is still R&D left, i will see :)
cannot do the project this time, becouse is have to buy new Toyo's for the trip to switzerland

Hi,

car is crashed against a stone in a rally action on weekend

destroyed is on the left side: super strut, damper, wheel, fender, bumper intercooler hoses, resonace-box (not important)

hope to be back on the road again as soon as possible

i learned that it is not cool to drive in wet grass
and the good is that i have now space for a water-tank under the left fender
