Wasn't it SAAB who playing with this idea but on a lesser scale?

iirc they introduced something that looked like a thermos flask that stored the engine cooling water, which stayed hot for "some time" ?

These things are dead common in really cold places

My Canadian friend from Edmunton (-30 degrees :shock: ) plugs his car into the mains every night even though it lives in a garage

It's got some sort of kettle type element in the engine block

I think it looks like a sensible mod. If the Canadians reckon they work that's good enough for me! Not sure I want to open the lump up just to fit a Tefal element tho :?
