This is awesome. So true!

I'll be changing various photo filenames as I'm currently building a blog so if you don't see the photos, don't worry, all will be well soon.

In the interim before I find the time to do the next update (lots of stuff done over the new year :D ) here's a fun video

Haven't updated in ages. 1050 photos to sort through for 2011.
Thought I'd chuck up proof that the car is still being worked on and parts are going back on to the car!

How did the the guy who built the lambo in his basement get it out? How does Gibbs on NCIS get his boats out of his basement?

19/02/12
cleaned and shuffled stuff around to make room again, stuck the alternator and engine hook on, found my speedsource alu mounts which had been seperated over the years (I don't exactly remember when or why I put 1/2 the mounts in the shortshifter box.. but at least I found them). Seperated a big pile of wire. Had the 5S block fall against my leg and give me a nice red streak. Got *bleep* at block and reassembled the engine stand and moved the block off the floor - grr

And i've lost a wheel bearing kit :( i know it's somewhere in the garage. Last time I remember seeing it was in the engine bay.......

04/03/12
So spent the day installing cross member solid bushings and polyurethane engine mounts from speedsource. PITA! Pushing the engine back and forth and rotating it till the engine mounts fitted, a lot of work to get it right.

I was thinking it was taking too long and the tolerances were all wrong, but alas, it was all me. I had installed the crossmember bushings the wrong way around. RTFM....

First of all, I had to get the car back up on stands. Flying car for the win!
Image

Solid aluminium bushings.
Image

Doing a bushing alignment check. Half the bush was in and the shim as well to see where the bushing sat as the hole was offset.
Image

Slipping the firewall side bushing in. Takes a bit of work to get everything in, but everything lines up and fits well.
Image

Front bushing in. Engine is solid as!
Image

So I found that lost wheel bearing. Box had fallen behind the spare engine and some cardboard boxes in the corner. I had previously searched all my plastic tubs of parts and was starting to rearrange the whole garage again, when I found it.

Tonights challenge, install the exhaust rear section, so I am prepared for welding up the mid-section and installing the high flow catalytic converter

mmmm.. HKS goodness. Has only been sitting in a box for nearly 4 years hahaha
Image

Image

After some fussing around, I took the wheel off and also wrapped the exhaust in some carpet to protect the exhaust.

I think I installed the exhaust wrong lol

Image

All in. Will take some better photos some time and post them later when there is more light.

Edit - we just had a little earthquake.. Car hasn't fallen off the stands in a 5.5, so it should be okay as it is

Super excited! *tears of joy

After many moons of debating and researching, I bit the bullet and got an engineer to build my big brake kit!
Wilwood superlites, 324x30mm subaru STI rotors, brackets with braided lines and centralising hub rings.

Along with an additional purchase from the engineer/racer/retailer, I think that my spending on the car is almost complete! (I need to convince myself somehow this money pit will stop.. )

:D

12am.. righto, started processing photos again for the blog *sigh Getting into the 2011 photos.
Currently sitting at around 2700 photos. Will cull down to probably 2000 pure celica photos. It's around half a 450mb of 800x600 photos
