Not the most technically demanding of mods I know but i am chuffed with the outcome.

And I only had to sacrifice a small amount of skin to the gods of GT4 maintenance :)

Now i just need to wait and see if it lasts... :?

Lol

Well I do expect the extra weight of the paint to add a great deal of traction from stationary so I guess it's a performance mod isn't it!!

What paint did you use Paul?

I've had good results with Sperex VHT paint.

Halfrauds vht manifold paint

It claims to be good for 500degreesC so I hope that'll do the job.

Standard turbo runs to 700 apparently, but that's in the turbo. There is airspace between the turbo and the heatshield so I'm hoping it won't get quite so hot.

f it comes off I'm sure to be back on here comlaining about it :)

i did mine in hammerite gold. its held the colour quite well except in the areas around the bolts (must be hottest as its directly in contact with the fannymould) where its turned a silver colour

all by the by now as i dont use a heatshield anymore!

Nice job Mr C. Was that one coat or two ? and how silver is the silver?TO5 seems a better alternative than the chroming which seems to get very mixed results.

It's three coats. It was close to freezing on the day I did it so I wanted to give it the best possible chance of setting.

The silver is not even slightly silver. It's grey :)

But I am happy with the finish.

What do you want a pic of?
