So.. I finally got my midpipe made up yesterday. Previous setup Aussie 3" dp - stock midpipe with cat - HKS Silent Hi-Power 3" part 1 with resonator - HKS SHP 3" part 2 (muffler). This was a bit too silent for my liking and too restrictive for my future plans. Due to a change of law I don't need a cat anymore, so I'm planning not to use one anymore. ![]() New setup Aussie 3" dp - custom 3" midpipe - HKS SHP 3" part 2 (muffler). ![]() ![]() Fyi: it's LOUD. There's nothing silent about my car anymore, it's become a jet fighter. Although from outside or from another car it isn't that bad, on boost all hell breaks loose inside. And that's still with sound deadening in (no rear seats as you might know). From what I've heared irl and in some videos I thought I had designed a perfect streetable setup but it's a bit too Honda for me. I'll see what I think of it after another drive or two, I might put the 1st HKS part back in. I think the LAPD won't like it as well.. ![]() I do like the insane spooling though, 0-fuel cut faster than one can blink! ![]() Will try to get some sound on tape this weekend? ![]() |

When you say straight through you're not kidding are you ![]() You're lucky they changed your laws. Is the non cat date rolling forward? Our dates were all fixed in stone so all GT4s are legally required to have a CAT fitted regardless of whether they pass emissions without it. Most testers are quite understanding about it though if the car does pass emissions with no CAT |

![]() ![]() Just a thought - A 'cherry bomb' style resonator will tone the nosie down without being too restrictive. |

I thought that cherry bombs were temporary and only used on the track? |

I think I'll just put the 1st HKS part back in to delete the Honda pitch and keep a low rumble only. I set off 7 car alarms on a short drive this afternoon without trying to do so, just passing by. ![]() |

It appears the Honda pitch is something resonating inside the car. Short video (mic fail though ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTbkZb9MEr8 |

That is not the only thing resonating. Since I installed the straight through 3" exhaust, I have "massage seat's". ![]() Nice rumble. ![]() |
