You didn't fancy a big turbo then lol

Be veeeeeery interested to see your results with this. I'm quite tempted by the 2871 52 trim

Er is the tape so you can put together a video diary of the rebuild

What A/R turbine did you go for? I woudl probably have gone for the [self flagellating] spanky anti-surge compressor housing too.

Bloody nice turbo though m8. TBH the more I read the more I woudl have gone for one of these large puppies over a Gt2871R regardless of teh trim. The GT2871R does not have a good wheel ratio between compressor & turbine - the 52 trim that steve mentions is in essence a HKS GT-RS 0.64 A/R turbine - I understand the results from teh HKS were not phenominal from teh MR2 guys. The turbine started to choke it.

****moderated several times - must learn how to spell in order to look smart  ****
Naughty naughty JP

It will be facinating to see the results of this turbo once you get it on the car. I'm glad someone has volunteered to be the guinea pig on this ....heh, heh  Doing the swirl pot and header tank prototyping is enough for me at the moment.

Look good Mat :D

What are your thoughts with the external wastegate? Were you going for an aftermarket manifold, or are you thinking or running an adaptor between the manifold and turbo?

Diceman -

I went for the middle .82 trim, as this was advised to be best for the 4 banger. Giving a wide power ban and good spooling. I was advised against the 1.06 as this would be too laggy.

Don -

I like being different :D but im going to be very interested in your results too :D

Kris -

Manifold in post, will post pics when received, but shhh for now

Cheers for your kind words all, im sure it isnt going to be easy but it will definately fly when its done, just hope i dont go and kill myself
