Just got me a front mount off evilbay, yes i know, its cheap tat,but its better than the oil cooler on there now! took my bumper off to be faced with a hefty steel girder that toyota thought was nessersary. its held on by to large bolts but doesnt look like its structual, its in my way though so can i take it off or cut it about to mount my intercooler on?

would be interesting to know because i was going to buy the same kit but had a look at the bar and i just thought about cutting the bar to fit the cooler in, do you have to move the battery or airbox for the piping with that kit? sorry for jacking your post but this is the only thing stopping me pressing the buy it now button

ive moved my battery to the boot anyhow an got the strait air intake done,i'd like to leave the bar off all together, less wieght, but i think i'll cut out the middle of the bar an fabricate the mounts for the cooler into it,leaving the corners for a little protection.
also im going to look at clocking the turbo so it points down.
Then the bumper will be cut to let air to the cooler, maybe get a cs bumper in a couple of months.
im not sure if you have to move the battery to get the pipework in but i'd guess at yes you gota move it.

That bar is part of the front impact protection. I personally would not remove it.
You could try to source a CS bumper and bar (lighter) as a solution.
Perhaps you could mount from it but I also wouldn't chop too much into the structure of it.
