Hi all,
My car has been drinking a fair bit of oil at late, found out that the front turbo seal has blown. So i am looking at upgrading turbo but do not know which one to get. I have stripped the car apart today and its in pieces in the garage at the moment.

my aims are roughly 200-250kw at all four wheels, but responsiveness is my main goal, during 06 christmas i will do a engine rebuild with a 2.2L hks stroker kit. i am after a turbo which has minimal lag, quick response on street and track. the car will be my daily driver and track car on the weekends so to speak.

what would you guys recommend ?

Its a gen II 3sgte, WTA model, all stock internals. has travelled 145,000km on stock boost. i am keeping it water to air also, as its special to the Group A's and does a fantastic job at keeping it cool and controlled.

While the car is off the road, i am doing a major service on it. and these parts will be installed:
Alumnium rear diff mount
Tein Superstreet suspension
Defi PSI boost guage + link meter
Greedy oil catch can
Koyo Radiator
And maybe a plumback BOV.

Any advice/help will be much appreciated.
im after low down to mid range power for this car.

I was browsing through the MR2OC forums, and im kicking myself for not doing a compression test, maybe the ring lands are gone on my car??

thanks.
shane

Shane - yes they are in the UK.

The turbo is pretty impressive and is quite different internally to other Toyota turbos.

We provisionally have a discount with these guys so be sure to ask before you purchase from them.

As a side note, if you went down the hybrid turbo route for your car then the wastegate may well be a problem i.e. overboost. Note that the turbo mentioned above deals with this issue quite well :D
