As im taking my time with this build does anyone think a 1ZZ shimless bucket conversion is worthwhile??
Only ask as ive noticed that the fensport cars have this as well as a few others.
Also as i could not find a HKS twin power amp does anyone have any suggestions - what about something like this - msd ignition amplifier?

I have done the 1ZZ-JGE(?) shimless bucket conversion for my 185.
The main reason for this is because I had heard that, on high powered 185's, there was a tendancy for the shim to try and escape (shim on bucket configuration).
This is not an issue on the 205 as it's a bucket over shim configutration.

I have an HKS Twin Power Ignition Amplifier for my build although I'm not 100% sure I'll be using it - I need to talk to my engine builder guru.
Also, seem to have found it here:

The shimless bucket conversion is not really worth doing unless you are planning to track and/or compete with your car. Adrian, Nige and I fit that description ;-) In my case I have fitted the o/s valves as well. I'm a great believer in letting the engine breathe as freely as possible, even with a turbo!

Will be doing some track days but not going down shimless bucket road.
I too have 1mm o/s valves ect.

Hi,

big valves can couse problems on more valve engines, in worst case

the intake flow of valve one affect the intake flow of valve two, and this can couse less filling

but i think this is not a problem on our engines, a lot of dyno sheets show that it works :)

Does anyone have any recommendations on fuel filters for my build??
Would you use a 2 filter set up or just the one??

I am pretty sure JEMS have fitted two fuel filters to my tracktoy.

One decent fuel filter should be more than adequate.
I would imagine that, like everything else, you need to take into consideration the diameter of the fuel lines and the fuel pump that you are running.
I haven't looked into which one yet.
