Wow, you work fast! Must be a great feeling, knowing all the rust is gone. Looking forward to more pics and updates! 8)

Ha yes ... I go through phases though to ensure that I can stay focused and often have a break of a week or two ... then when I start again, I can do quite a lot of work in a few days ...

Hopefully this week I will finish the front end work including brakes and front wing & chassis re-conditioning ... I should then be able to bleed and test the brakes for leaks and pressure etc.

The next major work is interior and fitting the seats and parts of the dashboard and interior trim though I don't intend there to be too much to do ...

Then it will be MOT time and hopefully drive it before the end of September :-)

A couple of pictures from the latest update - interior has started ... This has included ...

Mounting the ECU in the stock position.
Tidying up wiring behind the dash.
Installation of centre console sections front and rear ... I may remove the rear section but wanted to see what it looked like and have some storage space.
Installation of drivers side dash cowling.
Installation of a C/F panel to replace the glove box.

Drivers seat installed - Had some fun making new seat sub-frames but worked out very easy in the end - more detailed pictures to follow ...

I will provide more information on how I mounted the seats as it was VERY easy with minimal materials or effort. Currently it is a bolt-in installation without welding.

Front brake install and mud-flaps on ...

Rear brake install and mud-flaps on ...

Just small jobs last night ...

Fitted ECU loom grommet to bulkhead - car has an ST205 one (due to ST205 engine and loom) so needed fixing.
Steering rack gaitor.
Clutch pipe bracket on bulkhead.
Drilled and installed grommet for the air-temp sensor in the straight intake.
Fuelled up the car from a can, primed fuel system, charged battery and it started first time :-)
Bit of general tidying of the front cross-members which are clean and didn't need anymore than a wipe.

Things still to do ...

Electric bits-n-bobs such as fog light.
Rear diff oil change.
Engine oil change.
Box straight intake filter.
Remove seats, clean and paint floor.
Fix small brake fluid drip on brass t-piece
MOT, tax and insure ...

Well I nearly made Rally-Day ... Maybe next year

Martin

Can't remember if it was Dan (djdna2000) or Alex Knight that set light to his girlfriends bum with a setup like that.
Apparently there was a bit of a short when she moved the seat back

Still not a problem with your setup. Those mounts are beautiful in their simplicity :!:

More updates ...

Rear diff oil replaced - Valvoline synpower GL 4/5.
Engine oil & filter - Castrol RS 0/40.
Brake drip sorted.
All electrics tested - front indicator bulb replaced.
Washer fluid filled, wipers and washers tested.
Rear fog lights wired (both sides), using UK rear light panels and integral bulbs.
Front wishbones and cross-members prepared and painted - a job I didn't intend to do.
Sump prepared and painted - to remove some surface rust patches.
Rear wheels fitted.

Latest update ...

Work done includes clearing and washing the interior floor and painting, also washed Recaro seat covers - and had a bit of fun with them ...

Seats (preparation)

Floor before & after

I have also done some other work including sill trims, kick panel trims, battery wire routing, hiding (rather than cutting) all unused wires for such things as speakers, ABS, seat and mirror electrics etc. - the difference between the two floor pictures show some of this work ... Seats have now been re-fitted, need to fit harnesses when my mounting plates arrive ...

Well the car is MOT'd, only failed on number plate - which was allegedly too small but as a Jap import it is allowed to be smaller i.e. motorbike sized letters and numbers ... well the small one will go back on soon :-)

Image

Tax and insurance is all that remains, so will be driving it by the weekend !
