Shimano wheels?

Ha ha yes, am a bit MTB mad so ...

That's my 2009 Scott Spark 60 which I specced upto full XT kit including wheels, brakes, shifters, mechs etc. but with SLX double crankset and blackspire stinger chain guide. I also fitted the 2010 Fox 140 RLC shox. So basically my XC bike.

You also get a glimpse of my 1999 Trek 8900 hard tail with it's fancy dolomite disk wheels, this is more road/canal specced now ...

And finally picked up an ex demo 2011 Yeti 575 Enduro (which gets to live in the house) and that's for the proper tough stuff !

I didn't quite get all of that, maybe predictive text, but thanks for your comments ...

I got the homologation papers a while back through a member of the GT4OC - but I think you can contact the MSA and request a copy ... they are not cheap though ... I also have ST205 homologation papers but you can get ST185 and Corolla and presumably other makes too ...

Reading this again, having been under my 165 too many times recently. I can't believe how clean it is underneath. Really good work.

Well after sorting out starting issues, I tackled the job I had been putting off for over a year - namely front cage fitting ...

The dash came out surprisingly easily and quickly and after an hour or so I had test fitted the front cage pieces. Next will be to focus on where to make the adjustments to the dashboard cross member (which I might remove to tidy it up), cutting out the dash and making the platforms for the front cage legs ... Should keep me busy for a few nights !

Picked up some front rally spec bilstein coilovers so will look to try these out soon also ... Spring rates look 'stiff' but they are progressive springs so I'll have to see how it sits and how much adjustement I have before determining any spring changes or not ...

Front strut trial fitted and adjusted to sit as low as possible ...

Hi Martin,
Great to get your update. Much appreciated :D
If the Bilsteins are a similar age to your ST165 then they are probably a similar design to the Bilsteins on my 1988 Formula Ford. I had mine rebuilt last year as I thought they might have lost some of their effectiveness after 25 years! Also, if the damping rate isn't to your liking you can get them re-valved. Modern dampers normally have external adjustment which makes life a bit easier. Such is progress! I'm using externally adjustable Ohlins on my track car project.

Finally got the final weld nuts in place ... Cage test fitted and very solid ... Just need to do the finishing, final welding and a bit of painting to the body and cage sections.

Demonstrating some proper skills there mate. It's great to see some 165's still out there getting the treatment they deserve!
