Some pics of what ive been up to thisweekend...loads of anal stripping/cleaning/re-furbing on closer inspection of the callipers 1 had 2 seized pistons so why im waiting for the rebuild kits thought id get them ready, cusco upper and lower braces where looking a bit flaky so they got sorted, next i stripped down the front and rear coilovers fronts needed new inserts waiting for new double valve springs as well so the toda cams can go in but generally its just been cleaning and preparing. even all the OE parts i have removed before they go up for sale have been cleaned/acid dipped.(will add these parts in for sale before i ebay them)

No problem I've sorted (just a missing carriage return between pics)

The acid cleaning of the calipers seems to have worked a treat :)

What have you used to paint them? Looks like a grey primer followed by a red final coat. It would be a useful reference for everyone to know the name of the various treatments/coatings you have used.

Thanks for posting!

Sorry not used to doing a build thread lol just do it,after acid cleaning everything gets 4 coats of acid etch primer then 5 coats of hi temp but to get the brightness i used hamerite metal between coats but wet on wet so one coat high temp then while still wet another coat hamerite then bake for 30 mins then repeat long winded and probably cheaper to get done somewhere like a body shop but i enjoy doing it and i get to do it to my standard cheers Don for sorting the pics.

Hi banzaibaz, real good project you got going here. Love to know more about the 5x114.5 hubs you got in mind. What are they off?

Hi jeff i had my engineer (top bloke) make up new hubs but they dont work with standard discs have to use after market MR2 bells, i spoke to him yesterday and when the above piece is made he will ship it all back to me so i will add pics soon and the only reason for this was i found a lot more choice in the 5x114 plus i have a set of rare rays in 114 lol ....He is based in the mids does private one offs has a state of the art cnc workshop at his disposal i have spoke to him about passing his details on before so if your interested in this let me know and i will send you the details. Example the above cad drawing made in
marine stainless with a full prototype in ally delivered £150 which for me is sound and his work is amazing.the sort of stuff you dont really want to fit just lift the box lid and drool at lol.

Sounds good baz :)

Initially I thought that you was going to use 95-98 Rav4 hubs/bearing assembly like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-RAV4-2 ... 3f134dc7d9

Wondering if he could make disc bells for us to take 330mm discs with the std calipers on extended brackets and bells for rear too on std size or larger discs.
