Heres some picks of my new manifold which turned up today. I have a few mock up picks also where ive checked fitment with the turbo and wastegate. Note that Ive yet to clock the turbo to suit the application but this will be done shortly.

Quality looks good but it should for approx £840 delivered including inport tax.

Good pics Mat. Is this an MR2 manifold and will your bonnet shut OK? I'd be interested if you could take pics of it on the car to show all is well regarding fitment. I don't ask for much do I

Can you say who supplied your manifold, turbo, wastegate etc. I know you mentioned some of this when we were chatting but I'v got a memory like a sieve :o

Keep up the good work!

hmmmmm you temp me young man :D

The turbo and wastegate was supplied by www.ATPturbo.com

The manifold was from www.full-race.com

Im also looking at this already jon..your thoughts would be good

http://www.enginelogics.com/induction.html

http://www.enginelogics.com/Enginebuild.html

Regarding the jig thos shouldnt be a problem other than time for me. I havent stopped since the new year and am having trouble finding time to fit anything in at the moment. Would rather not send it in the post.

Also Im looking to stard the build as soon as the liners turn up and should get put together fairly quickly once started.

Let me know what you have in mind and I will see what we can sort out. Must admit I would know even how much time youd need etc

mat

Its actually a 44mm wastegate buddy..but size doesnt matter

I was advised against a 38mm/40mm due to problems found holding lower boost pressure experienced by full-race. Which was very kind of the to share considering I was buying the w/g elsewhere.

It weighs a fair bit though.

Any thoughts people about fitting support brakets. I dont really want this cracking due to weight???

also has anyone seen engine dampers available?? as its something im looking to do to stop the egine moving too much

AFAIK you can still get the uprated TRD engine mounts from Adrian. Mine were supplied by TTE but that was a while ago and I'm not sure they still deal in TRD parts.

The 38/40mm have problems holding low boost ? ahh *bleep* me. I just bought a Tial 38mm and want to run a max of 9psi due to my engine being in a bit poor state, bugger!! hopefully holds up alright.

Hi Mat

Similar design to my intentions, apart from i wish to taper my plenum chamber slightly for side feed, the choice to use. In my book

Centre feed tapered ends, not my preferred design.

Following the designs used on vehicles, i have worked on. With 400 to 780 bhp output, I know none using centre feed, these vehicles are ford cosworth powered, I am sure the 3sgte is as good.

Will dig around for some images for you to see. what I mean.

I can make any of the ones shown, no problem.

I am working on a multiple throttle body design as well, but it’s a way off yet at least summer time..

The side feed project, I will step up the speed; hopefully have a working prototype for end of Feb to show what can be constructed.

It is based on the 185 head layout, but a simple flange change will allow 205 fitment. Throttle body size I have in mind is 72mm, only as its easy to get hold off.

Mat,

If I remember correctly Ian Smith of Toyauto fame has an engine damper fitted

Might be worth dropping him a line or a bell....

Regarding supporting the manifold. Section of hollow threaded rod with rose joints on either end and bolt it to the manifold and the redundant holes for the oem cat support brackets?

I've seen this used with rods running from the head to the turbo/manifold on some of the big power cossie's in europe. Norweigan ones iirc. I'll have a dig for some pics when I get home to my laptop.
