Shortly I will need to order a new headgasket for my fresh engine.

I know that I can't fully make a decision until I find out how much has had to be skimmed from the block and head but does anyone have any thoughts on particular headgaskets?

I'll be getting a brand new stock one in the full gasket kit that I have ordered but think I will likely need a thicker one.

Cheers :)

Hi

a have a friend who frequently kill all possible parts in his engine, the only one think he never killed was the HKS gasket
this is why i also decided to use them :)

drop me a note if you sell the oem headgasket.....

Have you measured the C/R after your latest engine build with OEM gasket Louis?

If the skimming of the head and block will allow the use of a ST205 gasket then I will use it as I have a brand new one in my gasket kit. However I'll need to know how much has been skimmed to check that the compression ratio will be acceptable using it as it could end up too high.

im runing about 8.8-1 compression ratio now with the 86.5mm pistons thats with the block deced and the head skimed, having a higher compression will help of boot and you wond need to run as much boost, some of the TSS boys are runing 10-1

hi Louis, how did he do that ?
measuring compression with a compression tester is not the same as taking measurements to calculate the compression ratio....

re: headgaskets..

i thought this was one of the most interesting threads posted on here in some time, good comparison pictures etc.

Any how have a re-read : http://www.gt4dc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... c&start=15

I had the engineer that did all the machining work for me on the block the engine do all the calculations on what the competition will be on 86.5mm pistons on a 1mm gasket and its 8.8-1

A 1.4mm gasket on 86.5mm pistons will give u a 8.5-1 competion

maybe,

also depends on which brand of pistons and how much the block is decked and the head skimmed

cp pistons 86.5mm on stock head and stock block will give you 8.5-1
