Hey guys,

I just scored a HKS FMIC and hardpipe kit... but it appears there is a stock toyota plastic BOV on the hardpipes going into the intercooler and also on the pipework going out of the intercooler!?

Im struggling to see the value in this?

Although... i have an SSQV, so it could be quite cool (although ultimatly useless i believe) to grab another and have twin SSQV's chirping

Any ideas?

Cheers :)

I have twin bov's at the moment.
I was using a Colins befor I got the GT3071.

After fitting the new turbo I was having surge. So fitted a seccond bov to let more air escape and lose the surge. I now run a Colins and SSQV, but I think only the SSQV will do, just works better than the Colins.

Can't you block-off the oem one?

I'm going back to one if i ever finish my FMIC project. For now I just want to enjoy the car.

If you fit an FMIC you'll do away with the chargecooler surely, hence lose the oem dumpvalve? Just need to blank the inlet pipe where its meant to recirc.

Two dump valves to try and cure compressor stall not surge? Only way dumpvalves could cure surge would be leaving them very weakly sprung to bleed boost, not ideal?

I dont have an OEM dumpvalve on my car. Im running a HKS SSQV on my chargecooler.

I'll pull the stock pastic BOV's off these FMIC hardpipes and put my SSQV on one, blank off the other.

Ah right, 2 flanges on the hardpipes. Get you now. Fit it to the flange closest to the throttle plate ;)

Ah cool, was just thinking whether to mount it before or after the FMIC. Thanks for the tip :)
