Hi guys n gals,

I recently bought an st205 with a supposed HG problem (leaking externally, no water in oil etc) but turned out to be a core plug which i am about to fix. I am not new to the 4wd turbo scene, i have owned a 323 gtx then gtr for a number of years, so not a complete novice. I also can pretty much tackle anything mechanical or body related issues with a car, i just fall a bit on my *bleep* when it comes to the engine management side of things lol, but i will learn that as i go along

Been looking on ebay and stuff for possible upgrades, exhaust, filter etc, and was just wondering are the exhaust's interchangeable between gt4 models?

I'm also obv looking at checking all fluids and changing where necessary, so what engine, gearbox, transfer and diff oils should i be looking at getting and how much in each?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and i'm really looking forward to learning and driving the car:)

Cheers John

Hello John :D

ST165 <> ST185 zausts are interchangeable

...but ST205 exhaust is not interchangeable with other earlier models.

For fluids quantities etc you will find Kris & Loosey's site invaluable: http://www.gtfours.co.uk/site_map.htm

Hi John & welcome to the club.

I'm guessing you're the one that was posting on CCUK ?

Worth doing a lot of reading on here before setting off along the mods route as it's easy to spend loads of money and wind up worse off. Kept near standard, the cars are quite reliable but very easy to lose that by doing the wrong mods.

yeah i am that same guy from CCUK mate.

And yeah i am gonna be reading up on a lot before i do my modding and at first it will only be the basic or normal mods to start with on a turbo car. I will put the engines safety first, already got boost, oil temp and oil pressure gauges that i had spare to fit to it, although might need to buy a different sandwich plate to fit the oil temp and pressure sensors, as the one i have is fro a mazda lol, so prolly a different thread.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
