Along the roof of the ST205 there are the two gutters, I have in my mind filling these in and smoothing them off (welding some plate in then some filler). Would this cause any problems? I dont think it would increase the chance of water getting it...would it cause any aerodynamic problems??? and more importantlt, would it look OK?

cheers

Nial

I can't imagine it would cause problems per se but every time you weld/fill you add another potential rust trap

Looks wise I always think soft tops look a bit odd because the roof is free of contours but that's imo

I've always thought the roof gutters were to direct water away from the door seals so filling them in might have some unexpected consequences. I suspect they also help stiffen the roof panel to some extent. Sounds like a lot of hassle for little gain other than aesthetics?
