Not entirely sure if this is the correct place to put this topic but here goes...

bought a set of d1 spec nuts off ebay official supplier and although the ebayer was quick and a good communicator the product is fairly crap!lol. 19 of the 20 nuts had threads,1 of them did not and although the manufacturer torque recommendation is 80lb/ft, I damaged 1 at only 55lb/ft. told supplier and they said they would replace 1 nut because of it not being tapped but if one stripped then thats tough
The nuts look good with the cough yellow cough wheels but I'm not impressed with the product. Just a word of warning to anyone buying these, be cautious.

Rant complete :D

Another make of wheel nuts to avoid are Ultralite.

do not use ally nuts as they will split and if you do any track days they don’t like you using them, MSA and FIA don’t allow them to be used

I completely agree with the previous comment, the worst part however is the d1 spec nuts are the genuine parts the knock offs are based on. Bet theyre better quality too!

I use alloy wheel nuts from Rays on my CS. Freaky expensive but good quality. Killed one nut, but it was my fault as I exceeded the torque recommendation.

Many people sell budget aluminium nuts as racing nuts or D1 spec nuts etc... truth is they're just cheap nuts which will crack easily.
You can get forged alu nuts or even Ti nuts which are stronger

Finally got this issue resolved with the supplier and have been given a full refund

Got to keep the nuts too!

Some people are petrified of negative feedback it seems

Can anyone recomend a cheap set of wheel nuts to fit an ST205 with Einke alloys.
The nuts I have at the moment jangle (lol) on bumps. I discovered that its the built in washers dont get squashed as the nut bottoms out on the taper preamaturely. nothing over £30 a set please.

cheers

personally i would just buy a set of steel wheel nuts from ebay, im sure tuner nuts have a 60 degree taper on them. As I said earlier in the thread, even the genuine D1 Spec alloy nuts are crap so would steer clear

9 out of 10 aftermarket wheels use a 60 deg taper. So OEM wheel nuts off a Mitsu might not fit?

And no offence, but 'D1 Spec' IS China spec stuff..
