 Post subject: dum dumpvalve qestion!!

ok iv bought a baily dumpvalve....if fitted it but i dont know where 2 pick up from or t in2??? (the thin hose that comes off top of valve) any pics or help please!!! lol :lol:

There should be a blanked of plug on the back of the inlet manifold on the drivers side that's the most common place people use.

There's one on the side of the inlet manifold as well. Both are 8 mm and BOVs usually have a 4 mm connection for vacuum, so you'll probably need an 8>4 mm adapter.

iv had alook...cant see where you guys mean....in short i bought another st185(narrow body) for spares this dump valve was on it....what iv done is copy how it was fitted....how ever it doesnt dump!! it did work as i drove the dona car home...if u are looking at inlet from drivers side wing...just below throttle body...there are 2 4mm pipes it had been t in2 the outer one...does this make sense!lol i could really do with a photo...its simple and bugging me!!! :twisted:

Easiest is T into one of the pipes on passenger side of inlet manifold. The blank on the back is quite big from memory and likely too big for pipe.

will it dump just by reving it parked up i.e off the throttle body or does it have to be under load to make boost in order to dump?? does the ecu have to learn theres been a change?? :?

It has to make +ve pressure. This is not usually possible parked up, Unless you have antilag.

Agreed, you need to have the engine on load to hear it dump. The blanked off plug on the back of the inlet manifold its around 10mm,too much hassle to adapt and thats a good boost guage connection anyway.use one of the 8mm on the manifold and adapt.thats what I've done and works fine
