Hi guys,

I've fitted a 10 row oil cooler to my ST205 along with a filter relocation kit (no thermostat, but as far as i can see it heats up no slower than before).

Previous to this my engine ran around 100 degrees once it had warmed up and now when its warmed up its somewhere between 70-80 degrees.

Is 70-80 too low?

I hear the optimal is around 80 dgrees for this engine, so i'd expect somewhere between 70-80 isnt going to do it any harm?

Im off to the Ring in 3 weeks and on my last trip i was getting well over 130degrees oil temp on the track, so im curious as to what temps i'll get now :)

You *need* to fit a thermostat.

70-80 is a bit low. I would prefer to see 80-90.

Without a thermostat if your seeing 70 in the summer time the temperature in the winter will be very low, I wouldn't be surprised to see circa 40 degrees on a cold day without a thermostat and that will be waaaayy too cold.

My 2p. :)

Cheers for the advice, but i dont use the car in the winter anymore. Its now been set aside as a track toy and im only gonna use it during the summer :)

I'm surprised that even on the really chilly, crappy mornings that we've had the last few months it still come up to temp in about the same time it did before. Mental!
