So my ST205 engine is now being built by Tim at TB Developments and Tim has sent me a couple of photos.

and a few bits that I have had powder coated in a Jaguar Chrome wheel paint finish, which has come up quite well.

and an alternator that I managed to get

Build is going to be fairly conservative, not going mental or for massive power, more for reliability at 1.2 bar, so no big turbo, no fmic, etc

so spec will be

CP Forged Pistons
ARP bolts throughout
Fidanza lightened flywheel
fully balanced
ACL race bearings
all new genuine Toyota gaskets etc
New Oil and Water Pump
new cam belt
New valve stem oil seals,
Head refurbished, Valves chemically cleaned etc etc

Going to have the cam cover powder coated, still trying to make my mind up as to what colour.

all waiting to go into this

Went to Tim's place and saw my engine, looks absolutely great, all nicely painted, head looks great, new oil and water pumps fitted, pistons and block look fantastic, love the fidanza flywheel, everything matched and balanced

Also saw some of the other cars that he is working on and I know my car is in safe hands, will now just have to be patient while he gets on with it.

Hopefully my car will not give Tim any problems and try to fight him, may all the nuts and bolts come apart easily. That nothing breaks or gives him any trouble.

I did speak to her as I left and told her that Tim was going to make her better so she had better be a good ST205 for him.

We will see.

I hope the turbo heatshield isn't powder coated?

It looks a fantastic finish on all the bits but will melt & stink if you used it on the heatshield.

it was fine when it was on my car and it was powder coated black, if its not then will have to think of something else to do with it.

I will take it back to original finish, not a problem.

Looks like a nice build.

Can I ask what your goals are for the engine?

I had a tubby heatshield powder coated red by wrc in preston, and it didnt melt during the time it was fitted and driven by me, however during keiths ownership it was an altogether different story and ended up in a bit of a state . So ferdy, we will know after a while if the right foot is a tad heavy

goals for the engine? reliability more than anything, not going mad, staying with standard charge cooler and turbo so a nice 340 - 350 will do me nicely.

but if in the future I feel the need for more power I can throw even more money at it and get an uprated turbo, FMIC, uprated injectors as I will have a strong bottom end.

When the exhaust shield was powder coated black it only got a little bit charred on the underneath, cannot have been trying hard enough

Nice looking build and sensible spec too which gives you options for the future if you get tempted  Those shocking green wheels are something else though!

Still cannot make my mind up about the wheels, certainly a bit bright.

Still, I can easily change the colour back to something more sensible.

Was thinking about Cadbury purple.

they were a dark grey, nearly black so just fancied a change but think kawasaki green may be a change too far.

may go back to black

Hi,

i'am not a big fan of bling bling on the engine except the pistons
but i love nearly every 3S engine built, what specs and targets will it become?

To be honest Sunny most of the bling bling will be hidden anyway, you will not really notice the inlet manifold, the Charge cooler is now fully lagged and while you will see the exhaust shield that may be short lived according to a couple of previous posts.

Engine spec as in the thread, nothing to fancy or outrageous, just a good solid bottom end, no big turbo etc.

will post up photos when its all finished.

Keeping it simple. I like that approach. Similar to my own. :D
