I have disabled that pipe from the turbo actuator and upped the boost pressure back to 8psi and was wondering whats the opinion on T-VIS?

Whats your opinion on enabled or disabled? Any benefits either way or which way is best? in your opinion that is :D

Don't see any benefit to disabling it. Slight loss of bottom end & responsiveness and no gains.

Very slight gain to be had by removing completely and replacing with a heat insulating block to keep the manifold cooler, although there will still be a loss at the bottom end.

Are you on the stock turbo?
I would leave it in working order, it has a substancial effect. I tested that with my 16G turbo a while back.
I now have a GT3071 and it is still working.

We tried to make it work on my aftermarket ecu and then did some tests with the t-vis open and closed and in working order.

yeah everything is standard on the car other than a relief valve to put the pressure back to the 8-9psi standard boost.

I found the testing info.

Image

Blue line is t-vis always closed.

Pink line is t-vis always open.

Yellow line is t-vis open and closed at 3000 rpm.

This is a grapf in 3rd gear from 2000 rpm to 6675 rpm.

You can see that the blue line(always closed) is the slowest one in the end and the yellow one(closed and open) the fastest.

As we did not know how to controll the t-vis with the SM4 befor, it was always closed. After learning how to controll it we set i to 3000 rpm to open.
This was a very noticable difference from t-vis closed.
My car was now 2,3 seconds faster from 2000 rpm to 6675 rpm in 3rd gear. So if you use more gears in a leap from sanding still all the way up to 5th gear it makes a huge difference.

This was with my MHI 16G turbo @1 bar. About the same as a CT20 I would say

http://gt-four.bounceme.net/gt4/st165/index.html

near the bottom, shows how good the TVIS is. okay its a ST165, but the power runs are manually controlled fully cloed and fully open on the TVIS.

at the top end ( around 6k rpm ) its worth 45+ bhp.
