Hiya peeps

Well ive decided this year am going to bring my wrc back up to scratch and finally if time and money permits go further with her, if am fully honest its gonna break my heart to pull its engine, etc set up out as I love it and am pretty sure everyone thats been out in it with me will say the same

I am gonna show ya some pics that may shock a few people that saw her in her full glory a few years back  as shes spent the last few years as an ornament that gets started up and used once every few months until recently when ive been using her more often, shes got a few little dings, etc appeared from being sat on my drive and shes growing her own moss as well as housing spiders, anyway enough jabber lets let the pictures do the talking

This is her today before any work has started took her to the unit with the intention of just a drive there as was buiding an engine but ran into a problem so it was decided its wrc time :D

I spy some serious engine bay upgrades. Looks like it should be capable of putting out well over 500bhp?

Hiya

Ye over the years ive been busy milling away testing ideas and getting everything in place ready for the next step apart from the fact that am still on its original stock engine that I rebuilt with new seals, pumps and bearings years ago, ive got a forged engine built in my garage at home ready to go in as well as a very unique turbo set up thats been made specially for the purpose but I like the engine and turbo set up thats on it so much its gonna be a proper grind to take it out

The swirl pot system on there made a huge difference to the engine temps and safety margins as well as the capacity

Anyway ive had a few ideas on engines, etc to get the most out of what I want from the car so it really will be worth the read once it comes to that time of the thread, I reckon because of time and funds the engine upgrade won`t be happening till late in the year but will be worth the wait that is unless my original engine finally gives up to the 1.4bar shes running on the little hybrid

Well your setup is certainly well prepared for handling your new forged engine. Interesting feedback on the difference the swirl pot made to the temps. Will be good to follow your progress.

Looking good Martin, I remember when I was up with you the WRC was in the unit in a slighty disheveled state but still looked v impressive.

and that turbo you mention  if it was the one I saw it was a work of art

Will look forward to the progress and eat some pie and chips for god sake you're wasting away

Well as some may know the old girl is going on show at north west rally stages in blackpool so its brought forward the restoration big time and I have to say if I didnt like polishing beforehand I flaming well hate the job now omg i forgot how much shiny stuff I have on the old girl, ive been solid at it for 4 days now, my own fault for not loving and cleaning her like I used to but I can guarantee am not gonna let her get like this again ever

All wheels are away at wheel repair centre to be redone as there 7 yrs old now and paint is starting to look its age in places, rear brake discs have been blasted ready for me to paint centres, cars stripped well down ,etc to clean up everything all in all its a bloody nightmare should of done this sooner but been really busy on other cars

Pics time :D one thing I had to sort was the sticking bonnet latch as it was doing my nut in so removed it and cleaned it
