Hi guys :), been thinking about this a little more recently and with spring/summer just around the corner i've decided i would actually like to drive the celica this year (gods willing). So how do people feel about a piggyback namely the e-manage blue ? Obviously it would have to be fitted and mapped by a pro, the reason for the choice is the car has a loom already customised for one (bonus) as the car was running one briefly in another life. General opinion seems against these, but don has proved it can work sucsessfully if set up well and my fuelling can only benefit from better control :( .

Like all these things it depends to a large extent on who's doing the mapping and if they have the understanding and experience to get a good result. Having said that, I would think that a piggyback would be simpler to set up than a standalone ECU. I guess if you can pick one up for a not much money then its worth a go. Looks like Thor charge £360 for a half days remap.

Hey Clive,
My engine builder specialises in emanage mapping...may be worth giving him a call to have a chat.

are you ever planning on going to larger fuel injectors over standard?

if so i would just go straight to standalone personally as i find piggybacks aren't great for larger fuel injection calculations. Stock you'll be fine.

if money allows i'd just go straight standalone anyway but thats just my personal opinion
