Is this turbo a good match for the 3S?
I'm not looking for more than 400BHP (360+ ideal), just quick spool..
I don't what to run silly boost (1.6bar max) (1.2bar ideal!)
Where can I source one cheap with not too much wait time?

What sort of results would I see compaired to CT20b?

I noticed that sunny (on his Project Taurus thread) is going to run an EFR 6758, so, direct comparison would be nice too. (sorry, i'm still not clued up on sized of hot side and reading efficiency charts etc...)

I'd go Garrett GT3071r personally or better GTX

Just to put into comparison the last GT3076r I did wasn't what I'd call laggy and made 399bhp at 0.95bar and 441bhp at 1.25bar. or 3071r will do 400bhp around 1.3bar depending on specs and have faster spool again. GTX ranges should hit boost faster and make a little more power per Bar Pressure

I know its not Borg but you know I'm a garrett *bleep* lol

Hi,

i bought my EFR6758 from full race, the wait time was 8month

i know two guys who rund a 6758 on his 3S and i'am told a spool up like the CT20B, thats nice for a turbo that handles 28% more mass flow especially as both built the engine more cheap then ideal
so i'am pretty sure you did the right decision with the 6258......if you can wait.....or possible things have changed but therefor you have to ask you supplier

gammaTi, i'am pretty sure that these series of turbos are not beatable that time, but i should also say that i'am not a garett fan

what put you off garrett?

see from my experience the GTX3071r is very similar in spool but makes power power top end, but thats to be expected because of the 71mm exducer over the 67mm on the borg.

Saying that garrett has just reaced both GTX2867 and GTX3067 turbochargers. Where the later would be basically direct comparison on the borg, and would spool faster than the 3071 so would have matched or better spool than the borg looking at the flow and compressor maps

Hi,

thats a good question, possible becouse everyone uses her and they ain't machted the requirements i set

- twin entry
- no inconel internals in front of weight
- no garrett

and then i found the EFR series which also utilise the BSCV and BOV and is pretty nice to mount as everyhting is turnable nearly free,
the only point that do not mach is the twin entry, i become told from BW that the splitter in the turbione housing was a problem so the
small B1 frame just beomes available as single entry, twin entry is just available for the bigger B2 frames
so i decided the 6758 even he isn't twin entry, i saw no reason to use a to big turbo for me targets just for the twin entry so i droped that from my list
a look to the compressor map also shows that it fit perfect my target was to hit touque from latest 4000rpm up to 8000rpm, the BW can handle enough air for ~7500rpm
and the spool up should also possible to hit this

are the named garrett turbos also that able?

however, i hope to get some figures of the 6758 this year, and next year after the drive in the ready mapped engine, then we could compare BW with a equal garett for a better sight of things if you want :)
for now i think i have to speculate too much.... :)
