Applied two fans from Spal to the new radiator for my MR2 this week using the universal type brackets from Spal so I could use the OEM holes. The brackets can be click locked to the frames in multiple positions:

I like spal fans as well and have them fitted on my car.

I have used the 'through the matrix' types which probably arn't as good as the above method :)

I´ve choosed this way as I´ve heard that the pins that go truth the matrix at this method will damage the matrix with the time.

This fans are 310 mm diameter, 1630 m³/h , pull type.

But the size You´ll need for the radiator of the ST205 may differ as I bought the fans matching the radiator of my MR2 Mk1 .

As above, I would avoid fixing the fans direct to the core, especially if the car is likely to have uprated suspension or go over bumpy ground.

Spal fans seem to do a reasonable job but get the combination that will give the maximum area on the rad, ideal would probably be a push on one side and pull on the other, overlapping.

I've always wondered if push or pull makes any difference
If you put them in front sure you do create turbulent flow through the rad but that might actually improve the cooling at the expense of some flow rate
If you put them behind then there must equally be some pressure buildup behind the rad which will probably effect flow through the core too
Probably needs someone like Dan with a bit of CFD action to decide one way or another

SPAL have just brought out a new range of brushless fans. Worth considering for the greater reliability and service life.

 measure your radiator surface area dimensions

and / or search: +st205 +spal

eg: search.php?keywords=%2Bst205+%2Bspal&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

^^^ i have noted that most st205 owners buy 2 x 12" eg: SPAL part # VA10-AP10/C-61A (pull type)

Hi,

I need two good quality slimline fans for my st205 celica. I have koyo rad and stock fans are too big. Do you can recommed any good ones? How about ebay cheap fans (chinese)? Looking for spal fans, but very hard to find online them.

I think ok size is 12 inch and looking for pull type fans.

Really ? Every race parts shop should be able to sell them to you. Bought mine here in Germany from www.raceparts.cc, but www.sandtler.de sell thet too, just as www.isa-racing.com Don´t think that These Shops shipping to UK, but an equal shop in UK must have them too.

I would go for, indeed I went for, 2 x 12" SPAL puller fans.
(you need to consider the CFM rating on the fans)

Unfortunately I can't read this topic. It say "You are not authorised to read this forum."

I'm thinking to buy these fans: http://www.spalautomotive.com/eng/produ ... AP10_C-61A

I have heard that they are popular in st205 model. Air flow rate is 1540 and I think it is ok.

Do you know any seller who wants to sell these fans to Finland? Looking for uk or germany seller.
