Post subject:  Fitting Side Skirts

Got some trd style sideskirts and am currently trying to fit them but having a few problems. Seen a few people using 3m attachment tape on skirts so got some to give it a try and im having no joy with it, just doesnt seem sticky enough. Will low temperatures outside cause them to be less sticky? Will warming both surfaces help with adhesion?

there are holes for screwing the skirt on inside the front arch but thats it

any tips fitting skirts would be much appreciated.

tiger seal seems the way forward, my concern with using slow setting sealant is that its hard to use tape to get a good fit on parts of the skirt

There are various grades of 3m tape from pound shop rubbish to the professional grade red stuff
Bear in mind that genuine skirts are fitted with plastic fasteners drilled into the sills so tape is unlikely to produce a great result
Ideally the side skirt wants to be good and warm to fit it - not so Mich for the tape but so the moulding itself is flexible and better able to conform to the curvature of the car
Ideally I would use either tiger seal or sikaflex it trying to fix something like that without mechanical fasteners, especially if it's grp
