Hi, I aquired a dash with airbag and steering wheel. I have all the wireing necessary etc (except the crash sensors..Couldnt find them-someone already removed them from the donor car I think...)

Just noticed that the center control module that sits under the center bit with the cup holders takes up a bit of room and required a shallower center console.. Is there a different place I could mount this without messing with safety. I believe that this has to be mounted horizontally facing forward etc.... Does is have to be mounted bang in the middle of the car? (I noticed that the module could not be any more central in the vehicle..) (boot is out the question as I'm not extending any wires...)

I personally wouldn't install this anywhere except where Toyota designed it to be. If you move it - depending on the collision angle it might not receive the same forces applied to it, resulting in an airbag deploying when it shouldn't or vice versa.

Any reason for installing airbags ? Are you planning a crash ?

I'm doing the install without the crash sensors because I don't have them yet. Its no biggie atm.
I don't plan on crashing but makes me feel a little safer knowing I have them....

Ok, Ive installed everything except the crash sensors. I went to the scrappie to find some of the same donor vehicle but could not find them.
I removed the front wing hoping to find one of them bolted to the chassis bar at the front.
Any ideas where I would find them?

You need to check the wiring diagrams for the car.

My feeling is that the sensors are probably built into the airbag modules but this may not be true

No, they are defo in the front somewhere near the bumper/wings (as shown in the wiring diagram)
My old airbag steering wheel is mechanically triggered and the mechanism is built in to the back of the airbag.

Ok so I looked on here >> http://bgbonline.celicatech.com/6g/ under section Electrical->Component locations
and it says it is "On top of left and right inner fender panels."

Why can't I find them :(
