LOL......I'd be getting some etch primer on that quick smartish otherwise it will dissolve into a small pile of ferrous oxide on your garage floor.

Managed to borrow the spray booth at work and couple of lads painting the car from work too. Being painted Saturday ;)

Edited in case I got peoples hopes up (sorry) underside engine bay and inside only for the time being, need to stick to saving x amount every month for the wedding. Outside will be done once rolling and weddings over with.

Coming on great :D

Just stating the obvious but....

Just make sure you have the ground points back to metal and not paint especially the ignition components mounted to the bulk head, as the earth is through the mounting bolts.

As I say, stating the obvious if you are already aware of this, but could save a lot of pain later if you are not?

You would not be the first to come across this after a respray :D

Thank you for the advice :) Obvious to some but very easily overlooked. Did the main big earth from the gearbox to the chassis today. Just wondering if and where I should take another earth from for the engine even though it will earth through the gearbox earth. Can't have too many I guess :/

There is an earth from the alternator bracket to the strut tower. You could look to upgrade to 8 gauge wire

Thank you Deecee. Still not got around to it yet but will keep it in mind. Been getting few more bits bolted on and removed the gold heat insulation off the plenum finally. Fitting it was a pain. Got about 10 mm of clearance between the plenum and bulkhead :/ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Yeah, looks a bit too close for comfort. If it was me I'd have test fitted the engine and velocity stack/plenum before prepping and painting the shell. You could have modified the firewall to give you enough clearance. Might be worth doing still and repainting the modified bulkhead.

Wondering if that could be 'eased' with a little heat and a mallet without damaging the paintwork too much.

St185pinjo No don't say that!!!!lol

I don't think it will move in that direction as much as I first thought. Under accel the torque reaction will cause the engine to kind of pitch or rotate anti clockwise if looking from the passenger side. Think when it goes on he road and dyno a go_pro will tell all. Worst comes to worst unbolt and modify plenum or as Sirius says use special tool number 9 and ease the bulkhead. Have enough paint left ove from the inside underside etc and still yet to paint the outside.

Tracktoyfour Your right I should've test fitted it but was on a dead line to get the shell painted or It would've sat around for another year before I touched it. If didn I would've lost I interest again and probably bought the r1 down the road that's been up for sale :)
