Ive never had any issues with exedy clutches apart from there a bit smelly if slipped but theres more to this scenario as when it has been fitted by whoever the master cylinder hasnt been adjusted to compensate for the new clutch so the clutch has been dragging badly which won`t of helped the situation it was apparently very bad to engage and change gears so maybe that has contributed to the failure

Damage to lower timing belt cover

Cause of the damage the guide plate for the timing belt is bent so has been cutting through the cover

Sanding block for checking/cleaning mating faces

And so begins the big clean up, block was thoroughly cleaned first then mating faces, etc

Image

New core plug fitted

Image

Full toyota engine gasket set was a cheaper option due to need so many seals and gaskets
