I have a JDM ST205 so have the rear fog light mod in the rear clusters.
I now have wired up an OEM celica UK fog switch by the drivers airvent.

As there is only one fog light notification lamp on the speedo, I decided to make the rear switch take control of that lamp instead of the front fog light switch.
So, switching on front fogs is done by the indicator stalk (as per normal), no visual indicator on dash but you obviously know its on becasue the fog light switch on the stalk is in the on position.
Toggling the rear log light button (it has a latching circuit build in) toggles the visual indicator on the dash and turns on/ff the rear fog lights.

Is this acceptable for MOT?

That is fine.

I can't remember but I don't think the front fogs illuminates a warning light on the UK model.

Certainly front fogs are not a legal requirement so there probably isn't an issue with having a warning light.

There is also a light in the OEM rear foglight switch itself - I replaced it with a white LED to make it a bit brighter. Illumination of the switch also satisfies MOT requirements.

Edit: This is assuming the OEM celica and MR2 rocker switches are identical, as I used one from an MR2.

I think fog lights are only supposed to be enabled when lights are on, but otherwise as long as you have a dash warning when they're on then it's fine to have them on a separate switch. The normal method is to use an illuminated switch fed from the sidelight or dip beam feed, but I don't see why it shouldn't come from a front fog light feed.
