Ok, here goes. My car is stock but would like the ability to push it sometime in the near future. I spoke to nibbles about this (actually, mainly to cure a recurring problem over overfueling) So, I'd like to kill 2 birds with one stone and get one of these --> http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php

I understand that this can mimic the stock Lamda sensor (narrowband) and work as a wideband and display the AFR readings if I get this kit (which includes the above)

So, how does one calibrate this to mimic the old sensor? Is this the best route to go? Ideas critisisms welcome.

oops, sorry, should have stuck this under the modifications section....

In the software you can configure one of the two analog outputs to act as a pseudo-narrow band and feed that to the ECU, whilst retaining the wideband output on the other for your gauge (presuming that is the gauge that uses the analog signal and not the fancy one that takes a serial feed directly from the controller?).

I would consider one of these. As I understand it, you can enter a profile of expected mixture against RPM / MAP and it will raise an alarm if it goes too weak. Not an option on any other gauge I've come across as setting a 'weak alarm' is pointless as cruising is weaker than self destruct level on boost.

I haven't personally tried it, but would buy this if I were buying again as it's worth the extra.

Will that plug into the stock ecu or do you run them side by side with the current sensor.

I think it can, but It's good engineering practice to keep monitoring separate from control.

Pretty sure that I have one of those LC-1 Kits for my track car
(but as yet not installed or tested)

Ditto.....bought one ages ago from a guy breaking his ST205. Idea is to hook it up to a MoTeC ECU on the track toy. If it duplicates too many of the MoTeC functions it might be overkill though. Still, at least I will have covered all the AFR angles and will have no excuse if I blow up my engine!

Thanks for that guys.
More expensive than I thought :(
