So I've been thinking outside the box of why nots....
As I'll be fabricating a lot of things to make things fit, I thought about other engines.
Googled around for different types of Toyota and Lexus engines and found a few choices which mates with our gearbox.
The problem is at the end of the day is space.
Going for a flat 6 like a 1JZ or 2JZ won't work because it's too long and our engines mount horizontally and even though in the ST205, there is some room after removing the battery, air boxes, and hoses you can see there is probably enough space for 1 more cylinder length but not 2 between the two top mounts.
Even though I did find a 1JZ powered celica but it wasn't 4WD but RWD and engine mounted vertically a bit like the IS200 conversions.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3205027/1 ... ta-celica/This leaves the options of a V6 or maybe even V8. If only i can find a V8 about the same length as our 3S then maybe that can work because the front rad can always be move forward for it to fit.
So after more webbie search on V8 celica's there's loads but mainly for the gen 1 and 2 celia's being muscle cars and 1UZFE V8 from a Lexus is commonly used.
Now I'm wondering what other v8's could fit?
