Hi all ive had my boost controller come thru today and the instruction diagram looks so simple but looking under the hood i cant match up the diagram to the pipes in the engine. It says 2 things need to be connected. Thepressure port is to be connected to a direct pressure source at an inlet manifold. E.g fuel press regulator... connect piping also to a pipe coming from the actuator. Can any one help point these out? I can get a picture if that helps point it out

hi i now have this fitted and working, however im getting results i wasnt expecting, i have the duty cycle at 50 and the gain at 15, when i change from high revs in 3rd to 4th and put foot down the gauge reads that it goes straight to 1.1 bar but then straight away starts coming down to 0.7 and fluctuates. have i set the controller up wrong? or do i have a leak? the pipe between the turbo and the actuator used to be a few inches but due to where ive mounted the solenoid its quite a bit longer now is that making a difference? or is it just loosing boost as turbo not big enu? the vsv is still connected not sure if that makes a diff or not? any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you have the waste gate crack pressure set to high. Its spooling turbo super quick by holding gate shut but opening it too late compared to what your duty cycle is. There needs to be a balance between the two, for good spooling but also good control of boost, otherwise you get spiking where it doesn't hold a desired psi and flutters up and down.
What controller is it?

Its just a cheap gizzmo boost controller with 4 meory settings and only duty cycle and gain settings... i changed it to psi display 3rd gear goes straight to 16.4 psi then comes str8 down to about 13 and stays pretty constant now... but should ot not stay at 16ish all the time? Ive tried all sorts of numbers on both cycle and gain and 60 15 is the stabilist but sticks to 13 psi... itd not the vsv still connected bleeding off a few psi is it?

Take a look at Kris' site http://www.gtfours.co.uk/ under the How to... menu - Disable the TVSV

The easiest way to disable the TVSV is to cut the wire at the back of the ECU which feeds it. It's called TPC.

Look at the part No. for your ECU on the following diagram and confirm wire colour from circuit - blue with red stripe on 185 & 205.

Ha

I've seen enough bomb on a boat/aeroplane/milkfloat disaster films to know that never works!

The people who cut the red wire always end up as artistic wallpaper.
The people who disable the bomb with a simple mechanical solution like a toothpick in the firing relay/brick on the accelerator always survive

Have you changed the settings on the boost controller to see what happens?
