At that rpm it won't make anything as above.

To see how they die pretty much every dyno chart from stock turbo to garretts don't do well past 6000-6600

The stock cams and turbo would be outside their efficiency range at that rpm. If you let us know what your goals are for the car we can advise. Engine mods, horsepower and torque, road and/or track use etc. etc.

My st185 cs:
Gen2 3SGTE stock, cometic gasket C4315-040 (1.4-1.6 MM) crankshaft and connecting rod caps new oem, stock CT26, donwpipe 2.5 "koracing, except final stretch oem exhaust, k & n panel filter, 0.7 mm gap BKR7E , Magnecor cables8mm, walbro255, sard fpr, engine radiator 56mm ASI, ST205 watercooler,MBC.
BHP on dyno 240hp @ 5900rpm (0.85 bar) 360nm @ 3900rpm (1.1 bar).
212bhp @ 7000rpm.

Looking 280hp @ 6000rpm, is it possible with CT20 get to 1.1 bar at 6000rpm?
With wastegate OEM preloaded up to 1bar or with forge or kinugawa wastegate+MBC.

The standard st205 turbo (often known as ct20b) is a worthwhile upgrade on a 185. It is almost a straight swap - apart from the mounting hole underneath and for the heatshield being about 10mm to one side. Easily dealt with by slotting the turbo bracket and drilling a new hole in the heatshield. This turbo will maintain boost better at higher RPM than the 185 turbo, with very little loss of bottom end efficiency.
IMO it is probably the best option for a car used mainly for road. Many aftermarket turbos require a lot of gearchanging on hills as the increase in power is at the expense of low end torque.

I wouldn't run any turbo for prolonged 1.2 bar on the charge cooler as generally after sustained use the cc just doesn't cut the mustard.

But my ct20 has covered 141,000 miles and the last 80,000 have been between 0.6 and 1.2 bar and many many miles have been track and nurburgring miles and she still running well. :)

But I oil change every 3k miles top

Hi,

 correction, not with a pressure regulator but with a ECU you get the correct AFR

Bump =)

Any updates after 5 years?
Stock unit is tired, looking for replacement.
Anyone can post info about s148 and BW 6758 spool times?

I have st205, used only for time attack, winter sprint, etc. Specs: 3inch exhaust, AEM320 fuel pump, SCG-1 boost controller.
I want to have responsive engine, about 350-400hp. Thinking about new injectors, turbo and standalone ECU.

Would appreciate any opinions about possible ct20b alternatives.

Hi Anton,

i am using a 6758, i have no spool time for you but a dyno sheet

Image

note that this was after the first mapping, just to drive the engine in
curently i drive max boost und up to 8250rpm, unfortunetly i aint have a dyno sheet
however, you cant can 100% compare my engine to another as it is pretty specific built

for 350-400HP i aint would use the 6758 as it is good for ~500HP, you better went with 6258 twin entry which is rated
to 450HP and perfect for your goals
