I have one of the above and need a new friction plate. Where can I order one without ordering the whole kit?
I found this but not sure of quality and I would like to go for a more conventional plate (like a fx200-fx300-fx350..)

http://www.gtschris.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=217

could I bung one of these on >> http://www.futuremotorsports.com/HELIX-ORGANIC-FRICTION-PLATE-ST205.html (I know its not from the same manufacturer.)

If I measure the amount of meat left on the plate (plate surface to face of rivets) Would someone be able to tell how much life is left in the plate? I don't want to fit it and find out it was to come out again in 5k miles..

General consensus is down to just touching the rivet head is as far as you can safely go. When I did 18 months with slipping clutch ( needed careful use of right foot at the end ) I was just touching the rivet heads on wear.... That was 30000 miles worth. My fx300 only lasted 40000 miles before release bearing broke up, the centre plate however had wear around the damping springs. Not impressed by clutch masters plates !

another option would be to pop a Helix clutch plate in there?

would it fit and work together with the clutchmasters housing?

I've heard good reports of the helix full face organic.

I would be wary of running a different pressure plate unless you've measured plate thickness and pressure for both types to check they're compatible. I once ran a competition pressure plate with standard friction plate (the shop sold it as a 'competition clutch' package) and the friction material split in half within a week due to too much pressure.

Sounds like you had a mis-match of specifications?
A Helix 6 puck plate would suit your Clutchmasters housing?
They are circa £200.

I had an FX300
and hated it,
it wouldn't disengage drive til warm,
this was at less than a year old.

Actually bought a worn Helix clutch
and popped a new plate in together with new release bearing.
You can re-pad a 4-6 puck Helix for circa £70.
Have had 3 Helix units without issue up to 50,000 miles.

Ok, so what are my options (cheap please)
If measurements are too tight etc, can I not use a spacer of some sort to space off the housing to reduce the the spring pressure?

edit: just thought about it and realised the the throw-out bearing would the partially engaged constantly if I did that...
